I am grateful for...

1.Muscle soreness after a light workout.
2.My penchant for planning.
3.My frequent visits and memories associated with Japan and Japanese.

What would make today great?

1.Yummy lunch and dinner! Complete with food log to hit my calorie goals.
2.Getting in some proper gaming time.
3.Solidifying more plans.

Daily affirmations. I am...

...going to succeed.

3 Amazing things that happened today.

1.I feel that I'm becoming more conscious of what I eat, and it's really given me a lot of ... food for thought.
2.Got it in some relatively decent gaming time.
3.Had a chat with co-worker about the next set of layoffs - made me a touch more optimistic.

How could I have made today better?

Clearly, I need to be careful about how much what I eat. Though I've been pretty good about tracking calories and being under these past few days, my nutrient composition is pretty whacked. Technically, it would fall within guidelines for a healthy person, but with my blood sugar too high, I really need to cut my carb intake.

It's gonna be hard, but I think my compromise going forward is:

  • if I'm going to carb load, it should be quality carbs.
  • if I'm going to carb load, at least my calorie count should still be within my goals.

I really messed up when I misread the food label, and ate much more than I expected.

The other thing I learned is about how many calories I'm actually burning. I really need to more active, since burning more calories means I can be less stringent on my diet.

All this stuff seems like common sense, but it's different seeing the actual numbers in front of me.

Things I want to do tomorrow:

  • make a menu or recipe list of meals that I can safely eat it without giving it too much thought. cooking is definitely time consuming. This would also help with logging my meals in fitbit.
