3 Amazing things that happened today.

1.I got in a good chunk of working.
2.I also got in a good amount of reading.
3.I started my slightly "modified" work schedule, and it seems like it could develop into something great.

How could I have made today better?

My "modified" work schedule got put into place today, though a few interruptions broke into my flow time blocks. I was still able to maintain a relatively good amount of focus. I'd rate in B. Not bad, but not excellent.

I found that when I'm focused, I had more time.

For instance, I had almost an entire hour to fill during lunch. I also had nearly 2 hours of extra time in the afternoon. I only spent about an hour of it, as I'm just trying this schedule out, and there were some misc tasks to take care of for work. But overall, felt nice, and hopefully I can continue this momentum.

But, what could have made today better... hmm. I definitely had way too many carbs than I should have. Lunch is the big killer -- I usually give myself a pass when eating oatmeal for breakfast. But I definitely had an overly fulfilling lunch, and while it had lots of veggies in it, also had lots of carbs. I could have definitely only eaten half and been okay.

So yeah, today's takeaways:

  • watch portion size when eating.
  • meditate on time; I did my session slightly after lunch, when between 12-1 would have been ideal.
  • probably I should be thinking about how to continue this meditation practice after the current program is over.
